Take one down...
throw it to your co-workers...
two thousand five hundred twenty one bricks to go
catch
one thousand bricks later:
We're one step closer to building ovens for 5 artisan families.
When I made my work plan at the beginning of my internship I thought about what would be a reasonble time-frame to get things done. Then I added another couple of weeks to the deadlines, just to be on the safe side. According to my calculations, we should have finished all 8 ovens several weeks ago. But things to not go according to me here (surprise....I don't know why it's so hard for me to let go of this idea that everything should go the way I want it to).
Even though I won't see the finished ovens, I'm very happy to have had the chance to participate in this project the way that I have. I've learned way more than I would have if things had gone smoothly and according to plan. Plus, this is just one more reason to come back someday: several of the artisans have told me to come back and visit someday so that I can see the finished ovens. :-)
I'm happy for the way in which my internship has come to an end. Even though it's not easy to leave, I feel like I've finished strong and ended on a good note.

Mikaila! You've finished already? Wow, time flies.. I guess you're traveling through Nicaragua and Costa Rica by now then. How've you been? I heard Doña Luz got fired and you moved out of the house!
Did I miss any other crazy stories?
Enjoy your time left and remember you can always stop by in Holland! xxx Kimberly
